Heekoung Allison Youn is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator
in the NYU Program for Surgical Weight Loss. Her experience
has focused on specific therapeutic specialties: bariatric
program, transplant program, hemodialysis, oncology, BMT and
medical-surgical care. Currently, she serves as
the main research coordinator for two FDA trials that are evaluating
the safety and efficacy of the Lap-Band® Adjustable Gastric
Band (LAGB®) operations in the treatment of morbidly obese
adolescents and in obese patients with co-morbidities.
Ms. Youn is a registered nurse who received her nursing degree at Long Island University. She received her M.A. in Education at New York University and received certification as a clinical research coordinator from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
Prior to joining the New York University Medical Center, Ms. Youn worked as a Clinical Research Nurse at Rockefeller University Hospital.
Ms. Youn and her colleagues, Drs. Nadler, Fielding and Ren, have published “Short-term results in 53 US obese pediatric patients treated with laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding” in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. She is a member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
