Keng-Yen
Huang, Ph.D., is an Associate Research Scientist in the Institute
for Prevention Science at the NYU Child Study Center. At
the Center, Dr. Huang works with the Building Blocks, a study
focusing on Early Primary Prevention of Conduct Problems; and
ParentCorps, a program designed to increase parenting skills,
prevent conduct problems and promote social competence for
low-income families of at-risk preschoolers. Dr. Huang's research
interests include pathways of normal and abnormal socio-emotional
development in ethnically diverse children and developing culturally
sensitive strategies to promote children's mental health. Dr.
Huang recently received a grant from the Center for the Study
of Asian American Health at New York University to explore
anxiety and depression in Asian American, African-American,
Latino and Caucasian youth.
Dr. Huang received her B.S. in Psychology from Kaohsiung Medical College in Taiwan and her M.A. in Psychology from West Texas A & M University. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.
Prior to joining the NYU Child Study Center, Dr. Huang was a Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Population and Family Health Sciences at the John Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Huang is a member of the Society for Research in Child Development, the American Psychological Association, and the Society for Prevention Research.
