Giving Kids HOPE
Established in 2005 by the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Foundation, the mission of HOPE at NYU is to fight childhood obesity with science. HOPE is committed to reversing this serious, costly, and preventable public health problem by developing, testing, and disseminating evidence-based interventions for overweight and obese youth and their families. HOPE provides effective solutions to combat childhood obesity on a national basis and promotes healthy living strategies to children, families, professionals and policymakers.

The Harris Obesity Prevention Effort (HOPE) Holds Second Annual Benefit at Planet Hollywood in New York City on February 6, 2009: Mayor Michael Bloomberg Thanked HOPE and its Founders on Behalf of New York City. The Event Honored NYC Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Frieden. Click
